For Today’s Video of the Day, we’re highlighting Intros: a series hosted by 2022 Aotearoa Music Awards Best Breakthrough Artist, Georgia Lines. In each episode, Georgia showcases and spotlights a local artist, focused on celebrating women and non-binary voices that are often underrepresented in the mainstream music industry.

On each episode of Intros, we see how Georgia is dedicated to our theme of the week "amplifying local and independent music community champions." Georgia explores their creative journey, the story behind their music, and the inspiration that led to the creation of their songs, alongside having important conversations around navigating the industry and tools they have learnt along the way. After the interview, the artist takes to the stage to perform a live rendition of their song, allowing the audience to experience their talent firsthand.

Over the years, Intros has grown into a high-engagement webseries, earning the support of Rolling Stone AU/NZ and NZ on Air for their third season. Intros has also developed Industry Intros, where Georgia has a kōrero to esteemed kaimahi in the music industry.

Georgia Lines’ highly-anticipated debut album The Rose of Jericho will be released on the 7th of June digitally and on vinyl. Georgia has planned a delightful release party in her hometown of Mount Maunganui on the 8th of June to celebrate The Rose of Jericho. Tickets are available from Eccles.co.nz
